Update on the Valley Line Southeast LRT by Ronald Joncas, CEO, TransED

Early this month, TransEd CEO Ronald Joncas announced with deep regret that the Valley Line Southeast LRT will not be opening in Summer 2022. During recent inspections conducted by the City and TransEd, cracks were found in some of the piers supporting the elevated LRT tracks. As soon as the cracks were found, TransEd engineering teams started working on the preliminary root cause analysis. The investigation has been ongoing. During the official statement, Joncas promised to provide regular updates to Edmontonians.

Ronald Joncas, in his current update speaks to Edmontonians and wants to reassure them that it is safe to walk and drive underneath all the elevated tracks and that despite the activities on the concrete piers, train testing is still ongoing. For your safety, follow all traffic signs and signals.
