Valley Line Southeast Project

The Valley Line Southeast Light Rail Transit (LRT) connects Mill Woods to downtown 102 Street Edmonton, covering approximately 13.1 km of light rail transit. This stage includes 11 stops, an elevated station incorporating a transit centre and Park & Ride, and a transfer point to the existing LRT routes at Churchill Connector.

Unlike the Capital/Metro Line high-floor LRT system, the Valley Line Southeast features new, low-floor, urban-styled trains that provide more pedestrian-friendly access at street-level stops. Embedded tracks are integrated into the established design and traffic flow of residential and commercial areas.

Pre-construction work began in March 2016, and the Valley Line Southeast trains opened for passenger service on November 4, 2023.
