Whitemud Drive Major Lane Closure

EDMONTON, AB – May 10, 2018 – On Friday, May 11, 2018, and Saturday, May 12, 2018, Whitemud Drive will be closed from 170m west of the 66/75 Street overpass to 230m east of the overpass.

Traffic will be directed onto Whitemud off-ramps and across the overpass to continue travelling on Whitemud Drive. This closure will only happen during night hours (between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.) and will be finished by 6:00 a.m. May 13, 2018.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • During night hours only Whitemud Drive will be closed near 66/75 Street on the weekends.
  • During the day a portion of the jersey barriers will be replaced with posts to provide access for crews to move girders.

There will be noise associated with the work. TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations, and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. (City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600).

During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel. We appreciate your patience as we build the Valley Line LRT.
