Weed Control, 83 Street (Between 77 Avenue and 76 Avenue)

Notice

June 10, 2021 – Starting on or about June 16, 2021, crews will be applying the weed spray Trillion (a broad leaf herbicide used to treat noxious weeds) on the west side of 83 Street, between 77 Avenue and 76 Avenue. This work will take approximately two days. Work will occur during the daytime hours only, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

In the case that the weather is not permitting on the allocated day, the spray will be rescheduled to Wednesday, June 23.

Although not generally harmful to people and pets, please avoid walking in the area that has been sprayed until it has dried (temperature and humidity will impact dry time).

TransEd has an Integrated Pest Management Plan with the goal to minimize the use of pesticides and to use them as a last resort after mechanical and other measures have been used or if deemed required by the Alberta Weed Control Act. All herbicide applications are reviewed by the City of Edmonton before spraying commences and notices are sent to the public. All applications must follow provincial and federal regulations and must utilize a licensed applicator to do so. Areas with exemptions are not sprayed.
