EDMONTON, AB – May 28, 2019 – Starting on or around June 10, 2019, motorists will be unable to travel northbound on 83 Street between Argyll Road and 73 Avenue during night hours (10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.).

The work requiring this closure includes a combination of both drainage and guideway work to create the structure & track for the Valley Line LRT.

Northbound traffic will open back up between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.

The closure will last for approximately 10 days.

There will be overnight noise associated with this work.

Drainage work means that the first couple of days are going to be the loudest. Crews will have to break through the concrete in order to get to the pipes underground. Once the first couple of days are over and crews have broken through the concrete, the work is much quieter as crews will be working on the drainage underground.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
