Tree Removal, 75 Street
July 14, 2021 – Starting on or about July 20, 2021, TransEd will remove ten trees along 75 Street, just south of Wagner Road (map below). This work will take approximately 8 hours to complete. Work will occur during the daytime hours only.
All trees will be removed by a professional arborist. These trees were left in place for as long as possible but need to be removed to accommodate the installation of light signal poles on 75 Street.
TransEd is planting 10,852 trees 85,767 shrubs, and grasses covering approximately 22,070 m2 along the entire 13-kilometer alignment. In addition, TransEd is restoring native forests. Native seeds were collected from Edmonton’s River Valley and planted in greenhouses, those trees and plants will be replanted within the project area in the river valley. This reforestation will enhance the ecological integrity and biodiversity of Edmonton’s urban forest and reduce Edmonton’s carbon footprint.
