Traffic Shift along 38 Avenue near 66 Street

UPDATE: The traffic shift has been rescheduled for the night of November 1 and will occur during off-peak hours (9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.). During this time, all traffic will be directed by Edmonton Police Services and will be limited to one lane in each direction at the intersection. 

EDMONTON, AB – October 19, 2018 – Starting on or about Friday, October 26, lanes along 38 Avenue near the 66 Street intersection will be shifted south to accommodate track installation for the Valley Line LRT.

The lane shift will occur during off-peak night time hours (9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.). During this time, all traffic will be directed by Edmonton Police Services and will be limited to one lane in each direction at the intersection.

The number of lanes on 38 Avenue will not change as a result of this shift in traffic.

Please note that there may be noise and flashing lights associated with this work.

 To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas: 

  • Lanes along 38 Ave near the 66 Street intersection will be shifted south to accommodate track installation for the Valley Line LRT.
  • The lane shift will occur during off-peak night time hours (9 p.m. – 6 a.m.).
  • During the shift, all traffic will be directed by Edmonton Police Services and will be limited to one lane in each direction at the intersection.
  • Please visit https://www.edmonton.ca/ets/general-service-alerts.aspx for all ETS changes and updates.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Alternate Routes:

  • To avoid any potential delays during the traffic shift, motorists can use 28 Avenue and 34 Avenue.

During this time please watch for and observe all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
