
Sidewalk Closure on 83 Street Near 84 Avenue
September 22, 2020 – Starting on or around September 29, crews will be removing and rebuilding the sidewalk and the driveway access along the east side of 83 Street between 83 Avenue and 84 Avenue.
This work will take place overnight between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and will last for approximately three weeks. There will be noise associated with this work as crews will have to saw cut and break through the existing concrete. As much as possible, the noisiest work will be completed earlier in the night or during the day.
Pedestrians can use the west side of 83 Street to walk north and south during this time. Crosswalks are located at 82 Avenue and 84 Avenue.
The driveway accesses will be done half at a time to maintain vehicle access to the residents.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
- Sidewalk removals on the east side of 83 Street between 83 Avenue and 84 Avenue.
- There will be noise associated with this work, specifically the breaking of concrete. As much as possible, the noisiest work will be done earlier in the night or during the day.
Vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and will obtain an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
