Permanent Lane Reduction and Removal of Parking: 95 Avenue, 85 Street to Connors Road

Noise, Notice, Vehicle, Vibration

EDMONTON, AB – May 2, 2018 – Starting on or around May 20, 2018, 95 Avenue, from 85 Street to Connors Road, will be permanently reduced to one lane in each direction. As part of the final Valley Line design, street parking will no longer be permitted throughout this area.

Work along 95th Avenue will take place over several phases, beginning with the below:

Phase 1 – Drainage work: May 20 – June 30, 2018

The designated right turn access lane from Connors Road to 95 Avenue will be closed. Drivers will still be able to turn right at the marked intersection.

In addition, access to side streets along 95 Avenue will be intermittently closed for the remainder of 2018 to accommodate construction.

All the above work will take place during daylight hours.

Drainage work is expected to be loudest for the first few days as crews break through concrete to reach underground pipes. Once crews have broken through the concrete, they will be working on the drainage system below ground, which will be quieter.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
