Overnight Paving on 85 Street

Noise, Notice, Vehicle

September 15, 2020 – Starting on or around September 20, crews will begin final paving on 85 Street north of 95 Avenue.  This work will take place overnight between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and is expected to last two nights.

There will be noise associated with this work.  Specifically, the sound of heavy equipment (engine noises), back up alarms when necessary, and pavement grinding.  In order to not interrupt traffic during the day, crews will have to perform this work during night hours. As much as possible, the noisiest work will be completed earlier in the night.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Full overnight closure of 85 Street north of 95 Avenue
  • There will be noise associated with this work.
  • Pedestrian traffic will be maintained

Vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and will obtain an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
