Overnight Full Closure of Connors Road

April 23, 2020 – Starting on or around May 22, 2020, crews will be removing the current pedestrian footbridge and installing the new Kâhasinîskâk Pedestrian Bridge over Connors Road.  To accommodate this work, Connors Road will be closed between Cloverdale Road and the Muttart Service Road for two consecutive weekends.  Connors Road will close from 9:00 p.m. Friday, May 22 and reopen at 6:00 a.m., Monday, May 25.

This closure will repeat the following Friday, May 29 at 9:00 p.m., reopening again on Monday, June 1 at 6:00 a.m.

There will be further lane closures in place overnight on June 1 – 4 while crews finish installing hand rails and remove equipment.  On June 1 & 2, one eastbound lane will be closed and on June 3 & 4, one westbound lane will be closed.  This work will occur between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Should the activities not be completed over these weekends, for reasons including but not limited to inclement weather, the weekend of June 5 will serve as the contingency date. 

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Full closure of Connors Road between Cloverdale Road and the Muttart Service Road.
  • Work will occur over the weekend from 9:00 p.m. Friday evening to 6:00 a.m. Monday morning.
  • This work is expected to take place over three nights, on two consecutive weekends (six nights total).
  • There will be noise associated with this work.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
