Nighttime Lane Reduction
EDMONTON, AB – August 3, 2018 – Starting on or about August 10, 2018, lanes on 83 Street, from 82 Avenue to 84 Avenue, will be reduced. One through-lane, as well as one dedicated left turn lane, south of 84 Avenue, will be closed.
These closures are to accommodate drainage in the area and there will be noise associated with the work. Drainage work means that the first couple of days are going to be the loudest. Crews will have to break through the concrete in order to get to the pipes underground. Once the first few days are over and crews have broken through the concrete, the work is much quieter as crews will be working on the drainage.
This closure will only take place during nighttime hours between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
The work at this location will take approximately one month to complete.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
- One through lane and one left turning lane on 83 Street, from 82 Avenue to 84 Avenue, will be closed.
- Work will take place during the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
- All lanes will be re-opened during the day.
TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
