Night Time Closures at 28 Avenue and 66 Street

March 16, 2020 – On or about March 25, 2020 the east side of 66 Street at 28 Avenue, as well as the south side of 28 Avenue east of 66 Street, will be temporarily blocked to allow for pulling rail into place for the Valley Line LRT.

This work is expected to last for approximately one  night and occur between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.  During this time, east and west traffic will be maintained on the north side of 28 Avenue.  North and south traffic will also be maintained on the west side of 66 Street.

There will be noise and flashing lights while this work is completed.

 To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • One westbound through lane, one westbound dedicated left turn lane and one eastbound through lane on 28 Avenue will be closed during night time hours.
  • One southbound dedicated left turn lane on 66 Street will be closed during night time hours.
  • Pedestrian access will vary throughout this work. Flaggers will be stationed to assist pedestrians as required.
  • Please visit https://www.edmonton.ca/ets/general-service-alerts.aspx for all ETS changes and updates.

During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and will obtain an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
