Muttart Service Road Lane Closure

Notice, Vehicle

THIRD UPDATE: Due to the vast amount of rain that fell this summer, this work has been delayed. This road should be paved by approximately the middle of October. Thank you for your patience.

SECOND UPDATE: In an effort to expedite the schedule, the work in this area will be 24 hour work. The overnight work will last for approximately six weeks but crews will endeavor to complete as much of the noisy work as possible during day time hours.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.

FIRST UPDATE: This closure has been rescheduled to July 3, 2019.

EDMONTON, AB – June 4, 2019 – Starting on or around July 1, 2019, the south end of the Muttart Conservatory service road (98 Avenue) will be temporarily closed for construction. During this closure, access to the Muttart Conservatory Greenhouse will be maintained with one lane in either direction.

This work will last approximately 12 weeks.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • There will be no access to Connors Road from 98 Avenue.

Alternate Routes:

  • The best option to access Connors Road is to use the traffic circle at Bonnie Doon.
  • Alternately, motorists can take the 85 Street exit from the traffic circle at 98 Avenue.
  • To access Connors Road from 98 Avenue westbound, motorists can cross the Low Level Bridge to Rossdale Road. At Bellamy Hill Road, motorists can turn left onto 97 Avenue which will take them over the James Macdonald Bridge, at which time they can take the Connors Road exit. Please see map.

Vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel. We appreciate your patience as we build the Valley Line LRT.
