Minor Lane Closures on 66 Street 28 Avenue to South of Whitemud Drive

September 21, 2020 – On or about October 1, 2020 TransEd will be continuing roadway, trackwork, and landscaping on 66 Street from 28 Avenue through to Whitemud Drive.  This work will primarily occur during the day (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.) however, some of this work will need to be accomplished at night. The loudest work will be completed during daytime hours, such as digging, and vibrations. This work is expected to last six weeks.

 To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

 66 Street from 28 Avenue to South of Whitemud Drive

  • Two southbound lanes will be maintained on the west curb side of 66 St
  • Two northbound lane will be maintained on the east curb side of 66 St

Intersections at 28 Avenue, 34 Avenue, and 38 Avenue

  • These intersections will be maintained as is.

Intersection at 36A Avenue (East of 66 Street)

  • All through traffic and turn movements are on banned on 36A Avenue, east of 66 Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.

During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and will obtain an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
