Minor Lane Closure, 93 Avenue (West of 85 Street)
August 06, 2021 – Starting on or about August 13, 2021, crews will be performing enhanced concrete crosswalk construction activities on 93 Avenue, west of 85 Street. To accommodate this work, motorist access from 93 Avenue (west of 85 Street) to and from 85 Street will be intermittently closed. This work will last 2 weeks. Work will occur primarily during the daytime with occasional night work.
During the first phase, crews will be removing the existing roadway at the crosswalk. In the second phase, crews will perform concrete placement activities to install the new enhanced concrete crosswalk. There will be noise associated with this work as crews will have to saw cut and break through the existing roadway. When overnight work is required, whenever possible, the noisiest work will be done early in the evening.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
• Motorist access from 93 Avenue (west of 85 Street) to 85 Street will be intermittently closed. This work will last 2 weeks. Work will occur primarily during the daytime with occasional night work.
• There will be day and overnight noise associated with this work.
• The pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection will be closed for construction. Pedestrians will be directed to use the crosswalk at 86 Street
During this time please watch for, and follow, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
