Minor Lane Closure, 83 Street

Noise, Notice

August 25, 2021 – Starting on or about August 26, 2021, crews will be performing works on the overhead catenary system including cutting of feeder cables on 83 Street (north of 86 Avenue). To accommodate this work, one of two lanes on 83 Street (north of 86 Avenue) will be closed, intermittently. This work will occur overnight (9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.) for three nights.

There will be noise associated with this work such as noise from hand tools. TransEd is committed to doing everything possible to mitigate noise and vibrations during work in this area.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
• Two lanes on 83 Street (north of 86 Avenue) will each be closed, intermittently. This work will occur overnight (9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.) for three nights. Flaggers will be on-site to assist with keeping traffic flowing safely.
• There will be overnight noise associated with this work.
• Pedestrian access will be maintained.

During this time please watch for, and follow, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
