Minor Lane Closure, 83 Street

Noise, Notice

April 5, 2022 – Starting on or about April 12, 2022, TransEd will be working on drainage manholes and catch basins on 83 Street. This work will occur overnight for two consecutive nights.

To accommodate this work, one northbound lane of 83 Street between 82 Avenue and 84 Avenue will be closed overnight (9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.). Work will also be occurring on 83 Street northbound at about 80 Avenue, but the lane will remain open at this location.

There will be minimal noise associated with this work such as construction vehicles and portable generators.  In order to not interrupt traffic during the day, crews will perform this work during night hours.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • One northbound lane from 82 Avenue to 84 Avenue will be closed overnight (9:00 pm to 6:00 am) for about 2 consecutive nights, beginning April 12.
  • There will be noise associated with this work.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

During this time please watch for, and follow, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
