Minor Lane Closure, 28 Avenue, 66 Street, 75 Street (Updated)
(Updated) May 18, 2022 – Crews have begun working at night on sidewalks and curb and gutters in addition to the ongoing drainage manhole and catch basin work. This work is expected to last until the end of July 2022.
To accommodate this work, each night, one of the two northbound lanes or one of the two southbound lanes will continue to be closed. The single lane closure locations will vary from night to night. Each lane closure will extend for approximately 1 block.
This is warranty work and includes removal of seasonally damaged and cracked sections of concrete sidewalk and curb and gutters in isolated segments of 1 meter to 10 meters in length. There will be noise associated with this work from construction vehicles, equipment saw cutting and removing the concrete, and crews forming and pouring new concrete.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
- One lane of either the southbound or northbound lanes of 28 Avenue, 66 Street or 75 Street between Hewes Road and McIntyre Road will be closed overnight from approximately 9:00pm through about 6:00am. This nightly closure will be in place (overnight only) until the end of July.
- There will be noise associated with this work.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained.
During this time please watch for, and follow, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
We ask for your understanding and patience as construction progresses.
