Major Lane Closure, 83 Street and 82 Avenue

August 04, 2021 – Starting on or about September 01, 2021, crews will be performing curb and gutter works on 83 Street, south of 82 Avenue. Curb and gutter works will include saw-cutting, removal of asphalt, and finishing of concrete curbs. To accommodate this work, one southbound dedicated left-turn lane on 83 Street, one eastbound lane on 82 Avenue and one westbound lane on 82 Avenue will be closed intermittently. This work will last 8 days and occur during the day and night hours.

There will be noise associated with this work such as beeping alarm noise from the hydrovac truck and saw-cutting. TransEd is committed to doing everything possible to mitigate noise and vibrations during work in this area.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
• One southbound dedicated left-turn lane on 83 Street, one eastbound lane on 82 Avenue and one westbound lane on 82 Avenue will be closed intermittently. This work will last 8 days and occur during the day and night hours.
• Traffic will be maintained with one southbound through-lane, one southbound dedicated left-lane, and two northbound through lanes on 83 Street and one eastbound through lane, one eastbound dedicated left-turn lane, one westbound through-lane, and one westbound dedicated left-turn lane on 83 Avenue.
• There will be day and overnight noise associated with this work.
• Pedestrian access will be maintained.

During this time please watch for, and follow, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
