Lane Closure, 83 Street

Noise, Notice, Testing

February 17, 2022 – Starting on February 18, 2022, crews will be performing underground drainage testing on 83 Street northbound between 84 Avenue and 87 Avenue. To accommodate this work, one northbound lane on 83 Street will be closed continuously from approximately 9:00am on Friday February 18, 2022, through about 9:00pm Sunday February 20, 2022.

There will be minimal noise from portable generators associated with this work. In order to perform the tests, equipment will block the left northbound lane which requires the lane to remain closed throughout the duration of the test. Workers may not be present during some stages of the testing.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

· One northbound through lane on 83 Street from 84 Avenue to 87 Avenue will be closed.

· Pedestrian access and mall access will be maintained.

During this time please watch for, and follow, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.

We ask for your understanding and patience as construction progresses.
