Bonnie Doon Traffic Circle – 83 Street

Noise, Notice, Vehicle

EDMONTON, AB – December 12, 2018 – There will be drainage work occurring at each exit of the Bonnie Doon traffic circle over the next several weeks.

This work will be happening sequentially, starting with 83 Street.

Drainage work on 83 Street will start on or around December 18, 2018 and last until mid-January. This work will be occurring during night time hours in order to minimize traffic disruptions (9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.).

No work will be taking place between December 22, 2018 and January 1, 2019.

Once work on 83 Street is complete, crews will move to the next exit. Notifications will follow for 90 Avenue and 85 Street north of the traffic circle, respectively.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Drainage work will be occurring at every exit on the Bonnie Doon traffic circle.
  • Crews will be starting with overnight drainage on 83 Street.
  • Pedestrian access on 83 Street will be maintained on the east sidewalk.

These closures are to accommodate drainage in the area and there will be noise associated with the work. Drainage work means that the first couple of nights are going to be the loudest. Crews will have to break through the concrete in order to get to the pipes underground. Once the first few days are over and crews have broken through the concrete, the work is much quieter as crews will be working on the drainage.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations, and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit (City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600).

Vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel. We appreciate your patience as we build the Valley Line LRT.
