
Argyll Road and 83 Street – Lane Closures
EDMONTON, AB – April 20, 2017 – Starting the week of April 27th, 83 Street will continue to see single lane closures at Argyll Road during daytime and evening hours. Lanes and crosswalks will see temporary closures, and we ask that motorists and pedestrians follow all detour signs. These closures will affect both motorists and pedestrians and will help to ensure the safety of workers paving future detour roads for upcoming Valley Line LRT construction.

Work will take place in the following area:
- Argyll Road eastbound and westbound traffic at 83 Street will see single lane closures in the evening from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and during off-peak hours between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. in order for workers to install a temporary signal poles.
- 83 Street at 76 Avenue and 77 Avenue will see single lane closures in the outside lanes.
- Pedestrians along 83 Street from Argyll Road to 81 Avenue will need to follow all temporary detour signs for designated crosswalks.
Alternate routes:
- To avoid potential delays, motorists can take 99 Street or 75 Street as alternate routes.
There will be noise associated with the work. TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations, and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
Vehicle and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
