96 Street Overnight Work

Noise, Notice, Sidewalk, Vehicle

May 4, 2020 – Starting on or around May 11, 2020, TransEd crews will be working overnight (9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.) on 102 Avenue between 96 Street and 97 Street to complete the ground excavation as well as installing utilities. Once this is complete, concrete placement will begin.

To accommodate this work, 96 Street northbound from 101A Avenue and Jasper Avenue will be restricted to local access only.  To access 96 Street southbound, motorists will need to turn left (east) on 102 Avenue.  There will be noise associated with this work.  TransEd is committed to doing everything possible to mitigate noise and vibrations during work in this area.

This work is expected to last for approximately three weeks.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Overnight work (9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.) on 102 Avenue between 96 Street and 97 Street.
  • There will be noise associated with this work, specifically vibrations and backup beepers. Crews will try to complete the noisiest work earlier in the night.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
