83 Street Removals
EDMONTON, AB – July 18, 2019 – Starting on or around July 23, 2019, TransEd crews will be doing asphalt removals on 83 Street between 76 Avenue and 82 Avenue. Crews will be removing asphalt and doing drainage work in the center of the road to prepare for track bed.
The closure will last for approximately 8 weeks.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
- Overnight work on 83 Street between 76 Avenue and 82 Avenue.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained.
There will be overnight noise associated with this work.
Drainage work means that the first couple of days are going to be the loudest. Crews will have to break through the concrete in order to get to the pipes underground. Once the first couple of days are over and crews have broken through the concrete, the work is much quieter as crews will be working on the drainage underground.
TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
