
83 Street (North of 86 Avenue) – Lane Closure
EDMONTON, AB – April 5, 2017 – Starting the week of April 10th, motorists on 83 Street can expect single lane closures north of 86 Avenue to just south of the Bonnie Doon traffic circle during off-peak and evening hours. The lane will be closed for night crews to drill and install cable for future LRT construction.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
- 83 Street northbound and southbound traffic at 86 Avenue will see alternating single lane closures from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Motorists will have to shift to the outside lanes during these times. Once work is completed, this lanes will re-open for phase 2 and motorists will be directed to drive in the inside lanes.
- Motorists should expect delays at this intersection during the 2017 Summer season as construction progresses.
Alternate routes:
- To avoid any potential delays, motorists can take 91 Street or 75 Street as alternate routes.
There will be noise associated with the work. TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations, and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during night time hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
Vehicle and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
