83 Street Night Work – 69A Avenue to 76 Avenue

Noise, Notice, Sidewalk, Vehicle

April 2, 2020 – Starting on or about April 20, 2020 crews will be unloading rail on 83 Street from north of 69A Avenue to 76 Avenue. The 76 Avenue intersection will not be affected. This work will take place overnight, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. and is expected to last until May 8, 2020. To accommodate this work, the northbound lane will be closed and traffic between 76 Avenue and 69A  Avenue will be shifted to the west lane with flaggers directing traffic.

There will be noise associated with this work such as the rail being unloaded from trucks as well as backup beepers. In order to not interrupt traffic during the day, crews will have to perform this work during night hours.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Closure of the east (northbound) lane on 83 Street from 76 Avenue to 69 A Avenue.
  • There will be overnight noise associated with this work.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.
  • Flaggers will be on hand to assist traffic.

During this time please watch for, and follow, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.

We ask for your understanding and patience as construction progresses.
