82 Avenue and 83 Street – Minor Lane Closure for Nighttime Drainage Work

Noise, Notice, Vehicle

EDMONTON, AB – July 13, 2018 – Starting on about July 19, 2018, one westbound lane on 82 Avenue, east of 83 Street will be closed for drainage work..

The drainage work will take place between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

This work is expected to last approximately two weeks.

To accommodate this work the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Traffic in all directions approaching the 82 Avenue and 83 Street intersection will remain two lanes while one westbound lane on the east side of 83 Street will be closed during nighttime off-peak hours.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.
  • This change will only be in effect during nighttime hours.

There will be noise associated with the work. Drainage work means that the first couple of days are going to be the loudest. Crews will have to break through the concrete in order to get to the pipes underground. Once the first few days are over and crews have broken through the concrete, the work is much quieter as crews will be working on underground.
