Construction Prep Work to Begin on 102 Avenue and on 66 Street

The City is gearing up for construction of the 13.1 km southeast leg of the Valley Line LRT. Before groundbreaking can begin this spring, TransEd Partners must conduct investigative and preparatory work.

On Monday, March 7, construction investigation works will begin for the Valley Line LRT. The work will involve road coring/testing to understand future construction conditions. This work will take place during non-peak hours. (9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

Work will take place in the following areas:

  • Road coring/testing to take place along (or on) 102 Avenue, between 97 Street and 102 Street. For those looking to avoid the work in this area, we recommend taking Jasper Avenue as an alternative route.
  • Road coring/testing to take place on 66 Street, south of Whitemud Drive.

To accommodate this work, the public may be impacted in the following areas:

  • Traffic and pedestrian disruptions may vary, dependant on location. Some work may occur in medians, while other may occur in a portion of a single lane.
  • There will be noise associated with the work.
