Overnight Work on 83 Street

March 30, 2021 – Starting on or about April 7, 2021 crews will be performing finishing works on the elevated portion of the tracks (including installation of the ramp protection rail) on 83 Street, between 69A Avenue and Argyll Road. This work will occur overnight from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and is expected to last 7 days.

To accommodate this work, two southbound lanes, one northbound lane, and one southbound dedicated right turn lane, at Argyll Road and 83 Street intersection, will be closed overnight (9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.).

There will be noise associated with this work, including drilling, pumping, and backup beepers. In order to not interrupt traffic during the day, crews will have to perform this work during night hours. However, they will endeavor to complete the noisiest work early in the evening.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
• One northbound lane and one southbound lane will remain open to motorists outside of construction hours.
• There will be noise associated with this work.
• Pedestrians will be detoured.
• Flaggers will be on hand to assist traffic.

March 10, 2021 – Starting on or about March 19, 2021, crews will be obtaining asphalt cores overnight from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on 82 Avenue and 83 Street. The cores will be used to document the existing roadway condition. This work is expected to last two nights.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
• Eastbound 82 Avenue and southbound 83 Street north of 82 Avenue traffic lanes will be altered as required overnight (9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.) for the two-night duration of work.
• All traffic through and turning movements will be maintained while the lanes are altered.
• The North-South crosswalk on the east side of the intersection will be closed.
• There will be some noise associated with this work from drilling and hand tools.
