Access Blocked at 84 Avenue and 86 Avenue at 83 Street

EDMONTON, AB – May 11, 2018 – Starting on or around May 21, 2018, access in and out of 84 Avenue and 86 Avenue onto 83 Street will be closed.

The traffic lights at 86 Avenue will be removed and replaced with LED flashing lights for pedestrian crossings.

As alternate routes, motorists can use 90 Avenue or 82 Avenue.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Access in and out of 84 Avenue and 86 Avenue onto 83 Street will be closed.
  • The traffic lights at 86 Avenue and 83 Street will be removed and replaced with flashing pedestrian crossing lights temporarily.
  • The flashing lights near the library will also be removed at this time.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel. We appreciate your patience as we build the Valley Line LRT.
