EDMONTON, AB – October 25, 2019 – Starting on or around October 30, 2019, eastbound and westbound traffic on Whyte Avenue at 83 Street will be shifted to the north side of the road.
This flip will occur during night hours in order to minimize traffic disruptions (9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.). The intersection will be controlled by Edmonton Police Service during this time.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
- East/westbound traffic will be shifted to the north side of Whyte Avenue at 83 St
- One lane in each direction will be maintained.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained.
There will be noise associated with the work. TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations, and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. (City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600).
During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel. We appreciate your patience as we build the Valley Line LRT.
