UPDATE – April 2, 2020 – This work has been postponed until April 20.

March 30, 2020 – Starting on or around April 6, 2020, TransEd will be transporting and installing rail on the east side of the road at 51 Avenue and 75 Street and on the Whitemud Overpass.  Traffic on 66 Street, 75 Street, and the bridge across Whitemud Drive will be shifted to the west side of the road overnight from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.  During this time, both the westbound offramp and the eastbound onramp will be closed.  This work is expected to last for 10 days, including the weekend.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • The westbound offramp from Whitemud Drive to 75th Street and the eastbound onramp from 75th Street to Whitemud Drive will be closed.
  • Pedestrian access will vary throughout this closure.
  • There will be noise and flashing lights while this work is completed

Alternate routes:

  • To avoid any potential delays, motorists can use eastbound onramps and westbound offramps for Whitemud Drive at 50th Street and 91st Street.

There will be noise associated with the work. TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations, and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. (City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600).

During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel. We appreciate your patience as we build the Valley Line LRT.
