
83 Street Night Work
January 23, 2020 – Starting on or about January 31, 2020 crews will be pouring concrete and constructing track on 83 Street from north of 76 Avenue to south of 82 Avenue. This work will take place overnight, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. and is expected to last for two nights. To accommodate this work, the east (northbound) lane will beclosed and traffic between 76 Avenue and 81 Avenue will be shifted to the west lane with flaggers directing traffic.
There will be noise associated with this work such as concrete pump trucks backing up, as well as concrete pumping and small machinery moving. In order to not interrupt traffic during the day, crews will have to perform this work during night hours.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
- Closure of the east (northbound) lane on 83 Street from 76 Avenue to 81 Avenue.
- There will be overnight noise associated with this work
- Pedestrian access will be maintained.
- Flaggers will be on hand to assist traffic.
During this time please watch for, and follow, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
