EDMONTON, AB – December 12, 2017 – On December 15, 2017, TransEd will remove several trees from the area indicated on the map enclosed. (Please note, the map does not reflect the current status of the hillside, as trees have previously been removed in this area.) This is to facilitate construction of the Valley Line LRT; specifically, to prepare for the installation of a retaining wall.
The area has been assessed by biologists for birds and wildlife, in accordance with TransEd’s environmental policy and plan.
This work will require the closure of the right southbound lane of Connors Road during off-peak hours. The work window has to be limited to 10:00-2:30, with traffic accommodation setup/teardown to be between 9:30-10:00 and 2:30-3:00. This is due to the timing of lane control measures on Connors Road.
With respect to tree removal:
- TransEd is committed to removing as few trees as possible.
- TransEd is aware of the residences adjacent to the area and will reduce noise as best possible.
- Duration of the work is one day.
