Train Testing Duration Updates and Safety
February 06, 2020 – On or about Thursday, February 6 to Friday, February 7, from 9 am to 6 pm, Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) train testing will be in progress on the new LRT tracks along 66 Street, between 34 Avenue and 51 Avenue. The train will move from the Gerry Wright Operations and Maintenance Facility (at 75 Street and 51 Avenue) and will return to the facility after each testing session.
The pedestrian walkway at 36A Avenue will be closed intermittently to accommodate safe train crossings. There will be flag persons on-site, please do not jaywalk. There will be no traffic disruptions at intersections.
Train testing will resume on the same route as of Monday, February 10 to Saturday, February 15 from 9 am to 3 pm, daily.
Overhead wires will be electrified at ALL times, and trains will be powered directly from the live wires.
FOR YOUR SAFETY:

- Overhead wires will be electrified! Encountering live wires can result in serious injury/death. Do not fly kites, drones or remote-controlled planes near the wires
