Road Reconstruction at 90 Avenue and 83/85 Street
UPDATE: July 28, 2020 – This work will begin August 4, 2020
July 2, 2020 – On or about July 9, 2020, TransEd will be commencing permanent road construction works at the intersection of 90 Avenue and 83/85 Street. This work will occur in three phases during peak, off-peak, and overnight hours and is expected to last until the end of the construction season. Work will primarily occur during the day (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.) however, some of this work will need to be accomplished at night. The loudest work will be completed during daytime hours, such as digging, and vibrations.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
Phase One
On 85 Street, South of Connors Road:
- No access to Connors Road from 85 Street.
- No access to 85 Street from Connors Road.
On Connors Road, West of 83/85 Street:
- One westbound through lane will remain open.
- One westbound dedicated left turn lane will remain open.
- One eastbound through lane will remain open.
On 90 Avenue, East of 83/85 Street:
- One westbound through lane will remain open.
- One westbound dedicated left turn lane will remain open.
- Two eastbound through lanes will remain open.
On 83 Street, South of 90 Avenue
- One northbound through lane will remain open.
- One northbound dedicated left turn lane will remain open.
- One southbound through lane will remain open.
- There will be noise and flashing lights while this work is completed.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout this work.

During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
