Overnight Noise in the River Valley

EDMONTON, AB – March 7, 2019 – Starting on or around March 11, 2019, TransEd crews will be drilling piles at the south river valley site near Henrietta Muir Edwards Park. This work is in support of bridge foundation construction for the Tawatina LRT bridge and will take place overnight.

Work activities are expected to last one week and will occur between the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

While significant vibration is not expected as a result of this work, vibration monitors have been installed at the south river valley site to ensure any vibration is within acceptable limits.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Residents near Henrietta Muir Edwards Park may hear noise overnight.

Vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
