
Overnight Lanes Closures for Concrete Work – 83 Street Between Argyll Road and 76 Avenue
UPDATE: June 24, 2020 – This closure will move to the southbound lane on July 1 for one week.
June 18, 2020 – Starting on or about June 25, 2020 crews will be continuing concrete work for track slab placements on 83 Street from Argyll Road to 76 Avenue. This overnight work will occur two or three nights each week, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and is expected to last four weeks. To accommodate this work, the northbound lane will be closed and traffic between Argyll Road and 76 Avenue, however, Flaggers will be on hand to assist motorists.
There will be noise associated with this work such as concrete pump trucks backing up, as well as concrete pumping and small machinery moving. In order to not interrupt traffic during the day, crews will have to perform this work during night hours.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
- Closure of the northbound lane on 83 Street from Argyll Road to 76 Avenue.
- There will be overnight noise associated with this work primarily back up beepers, and concrete pumping.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained.
- Flaggers will be on hand to assist traffic.
During this time please watch for, and follow, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
