Overnight Lane Closure on 83 Street
EDMONTON, AB – April 3, 2018 – Starting on or around April 10, 2018, 83 Street north of 69 A Avenue to 80 Avenue will be reduced to one lane only to accommodate both north and south traffic. Flag persons will be present at all times to direct traffic. The lane will be shifted to the east side of the road to accommodate drainage work on the west side.
The work will be taking place in four locations:
- 83 Street – the alley on the west side between 69 A Avenue and 71 Avenue
- 83 Street – at 77 Avenue
- 83 Street – at 80 Avenue
- 83 Street – at 78 Avenue
This work will only take place during night time hours and will last for approximately two weeks at each location. Work will be starting with the alley between 69 A and 71 Avenue and once that is complete, moving to 80 Avenue and 78 Avenue.
To avoid any potential delays, motorists can use 75 Street as an alternate route.
The first couple of days of this work will be the noisiest as we have to break concrete in order to get to the underground pipes. Once we have finished the initial work over the first couple of days, the work will be significantly quieter. We appreciate your patience during this time.
There will be noise associated with the work. TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
