Major Lane Closure, 85 Street

Noise, Notice, Sidewalk

August 09, 2021 – Starting on or about September 13, 2021, crews will be performing enhanced concrete crosswalk construction activities on 85 Street, from 92 Avenue to 93 Avenue. To accommodate this work, one through-lane will be closed intermittently on 85 Street (from 93 Avenue to 92 Avenue) during the nighttime, 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. This work is expected to last 4-6 weeks.

Motorist traffic on 85 Street will be maintained with one through lane on 85 Street, accommodating southbound and northbound traffic. Flag persons will be on site to assist with traffic.

The work will begin with crews removing the existing roadway at the crosswalk. Crews will then perform concrete placement activities to install the new enhanced concrete crosswalk in multiple sections. There will be noise associated with this work as crews will have to saw cut and break through the existing roadway. Whenever possible, the noisiest work will be done early in the evening.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
• One through lane on 85 Street (from 90 Avenue to 95 Avenue) will be closed during the nighttime, 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Motorist traffic on 85 Street will be maintained with one through lane on 85 Street, accommodating southbound and northbound traffic. This work is expected to last 4-6 weeks.
