Emergency Road Closure
EDMONTON, AB – April 2, 2019 – Due to a sinkhole that appeared on 95 Avenue at 86 Street yesterday, TransEd will be closing 95 Avenue from 87 Street to 85 Street for up to three days. Once the work is completed and the area is safe, the road will reopen.
Crews will have to perform all or some of this work during night hours. TransEd is aware that overnight noise is disruptive and has taken several noise mitigation actions in advance of this work.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
- Temporary closure of 95 Avenue from 87 Street to 85 Street.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained on the south side of 95 Avenue.
- Motorists driving north on 85 Street can turn west onto 93 Avenue and enter Strathearn via 87 Street.
- Please check the ETS website for all detours and bus stop closures: https://bit.ly/2CTN6Ol
TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
