Electrical Substation Installation at 28 Avenue

Noise

EDMONTON, AB – October 25, 2017 – Starting on or about November 1, Valley Line LRT will be installing an electrical substation on the south side of 28 Avenue near Hewes Way.

People at local businesses and residents in the area can expect noise associated with the installation. A large truck and crane will be present during the installation.

Upon completion, the substation will be enclosed with a tall fence and surrounded with landscaping.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • A large truck and crane will be parked near the south side of 28 Avenue near Hewes Way.
  • During construction, seven spaces at the north end of the parking lot for the office building at 28 Avenue and Hewes Way will be blocked.
  • Please visit https://www.edmonton.ca/ets/general-service-alerts.aspx for all ETS changes and updates.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

 

During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
