Argyll Road and 83 Street – Lane Closure

EDMONTON, AB – April 3, 2017 – Starting the week of April 10th, Argyll Road will see single lane closures at 83 Street during off-peak and evening hours. There will also be temporary and permanent access closures for a nearby parking lot. This work is being done to gather core samples from the road for upcoming Valley Line LRT construction.

Work will take place in the following area: 

  • Argyll Road eastbound and westbound traffic at 83 Street will see single lane closures from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Motorists will be required to shift lanes during these times.
  • The parking lot entrance that intersects with 83 Street and Argyll Road will be permanently closed. The adjacent access will be closed temporarily and will re-open once this work is completed.
  • Motorists should expect delays at these intersections during the 2017 Summer season as construction progresses.

Alternate routes:

  • To avoid potential delays, motorists can take 99 Street or 75 Street as alternate routes.

There will be noise associated with the work. TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations, and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during night time hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
