
98 Ave & 96A St – Construction – UPDATE

Valley Line LRT Construction Update – North Saskatchewan River Valley
EDMONTON, AB – December 30, 2016 – On or about January 9, 2017, crews will begin the construction of permanent pilings in the area of 98 Avenue and 96A Street (Henrietta Muir Edwards Park). Activity will include the drilling of holes and filling them with concrete. These pilings are being constructed for the elevated guideway (overpass) crossing 98 Avenue for the Valley Line LRT.
Construction of the pilings is expected to be completed by January 20, 2017. This work is scheduled to take place primarily between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. However, ground conditions could result in work extending past 9:00 p.m. A noise permit for extended hours of work has been obtained from the City of Edmonton.
To accommodate this work, the public may be impacted in the following areas:
- There will be no impact to motorists or pedestrians.
- Nearby residents may hear periods of noise associated with his work. Every effort will be made to limit noise to the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. However, TransEd has a permit in place for overnight work.
- TransEd is required to complete construction activities within the requirements of the City of Edmonton Noise Bylaw*.
