95 Avenue Overnight Work

Noise, Notice, Vehicle

EDMONTON, AB – August 9, 2018 – Starting on or around August 16, 2018, there will be overnight work along 95 Avenue. Drainage work will be taking place in the intersections  between 85 Street and Connors Road. The work will be sequential, starting at 85 Street and moving west.

This particular work will take place between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. and will last approximately two weeks. Other overnight works may take place in the future.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Nightwork will be taking place in the intersections on 95 Avenue.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

These closures are to accommodate drainage in the area and there will be noise associated with the work. Drainage work means that the first couple of nights are going to be the loudest. Crews will have to break through the concrete in order to get to the pipes underground. Once the first few days are over and crews have broken through the concrete, the work is much quieter as crews will be working on the drainage.

There will be noise associated with the work. TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations, and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. (City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600).

Vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel. We appreciate your patience as we build the Valley Line LRT.
