83 Street Traffic Shift
January 30, 2020 – Starting on or about February 3, 2020, TransEd crews will be continuing to complete track work near the intersection of 83 Street and 82 Avenue. To accommodate this work, southbound traffic on 83 Street will be shifted to the east side just north of 81 Avenue. Also, access to the alley between 81 Avenue and 82 Avenue on the west side of 83 Street will be closed.
Pedestrian access on the west side of 83 Street will be closed. Pedestrians are asked to access the west side of 83 Street at 79 Avenue.
This closure will last until mid-summer and work will be occurring during daytime hours (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.).
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
- Southbound traffic on 83 Street will be shifted east for approximately one block north of 81 Avenue.
- Closure of the access to the alley between 82 Avenue and 81 Avenue on the west side of 83 Street.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained on the east side of 83 Street.
- Pedestrians will be able to cross 83 Street at 79 Avenue
Vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
