EDMONTON, AB – May 31, 2018 – Starting on or around June 4, 2018, TransEd crews will be closing all the entrances to sidestreets and alleys on the east side of 83 Street, between 76 Avenue and 82 Avenue, for sidewalk removals.
This includes 77, 78, 79, 80, 81 Avenues and all the alley entrances in between except for the alley between 80 and 81 Avenues.
This work is expected to last for approximately eight weeks and will take place during daytime hours.
Sidestreets and alleys on the west side of 83 Street are still accessible.
Once the removals are done and the concrete poured, traffic will be restricted to northbound travel only on the east side of 83 Street (right turns in and out only).
Conversely, on the west side of 83 Street, traffic will be restricted to southbound traffic only (right turns in and out, only).
The closures are temporary and once the work is complete, the sidestreets and alleys will re-open.
Please use 75 Street as an alternate route.
These access restrictions will be permanent.
There will be some noise associated with the work. The removals phase is the loudest; once crews have broken through the concrete and are in the concrete pouring phase, the work is much quieter.
