
83 Street Night Work
UPDATE: This work has been rescheduled to begin November 15, 2019
EDMONTON, AB – November 6, 2019 – Starting on or about November 13, 2019, crews will be working south of the intersection at 80 Avenue on 83 Street overnight, from 9:00 p.m.to 6:00 a.m. The work occurring will be an overnight concrete pour. To accommodate this work, northbound traffic between 76 Avenue and 82 Avenue will be shifted to the west lane by flaggers. This work is expected to last one night only.
In order to not interrupt traffic during the day, crews will have to perform this work during night hours. TransEd is aware that overnight noise is disruptive and has taken several noise mitigation actions in advance of this work.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
- Overnight work on 83 Street and 80 Avenue.
- East lane closure of 83 Street from 76 Avenue to 82 Avenue.
- There will be noise associated with this work
- Pedestrian access will be maintained.
- Flaggers will be on hand to assist traffic.
During this time please watch for, and follow, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and will obtain an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
