Noise, Notice, Sidewalk, Vehicle

UPDATE: This work will last approximately two more weeks. There will be one lane to accomodate both north and south traffic. Flaggers will be present at all times.

EDMONTON, AB – April 25, 2018 – Starting on or around April 30, 2018, 83 Street from 86 Avenue to south of the Bonnie Doon traffic circle will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Traffic will be shifted to the east side of 83 Street to accommodate work happening on the west side.

This work will only take place during night hours and a flag person will be present to help direct motorists.

Once this work is complete, traffic will be shifted to the west of 83 Street so that work can take place on the east side.

Work will last for approximately 10 days on each side of the street.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Temporary paving work will be happening in night time hours on 83 Street from 86 Avenue to south of the Bonnie Doon traffic circle.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Alternate Routes:

  • To avoid any potential delays, motorists can use 75 Street as an alternate route.

There will be noise associated with the work. TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations, and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. (City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600).

Vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel. We appreciate your patience as we build the Valley Line LRT.
